Burial with the Rich

Buried in a rich man's tomb.

Scripture Reference: Isaiah 53:9 (c. 700 BC)
"He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death..."

The Evidence

Executed criminals were usually thrown into a common pit. Yet Isaiah predicts the Messiah would be with the 'rich' in his death.

Historical Context

Jesus died between two wicked men (thieves), but Joseph of Arimathea, a rich man, asked for His body and placed it in his own new tomb (Matthew 27:57-60).

Significance

Predicts the unlikely circumstances of His burial.
